This guide shows how to purchase and activate a Bitdefender subscription for home or small office security directly from the official website. When buying from the Bitdefender online store, you can activate your subscription immediately after completing the payment, without waiting for a separate activation email.
Step 1: Visit the Bitdefender Website
Go to https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/ to explore all Bitdefender security products for home and small offices.
Step 2: Explore Products
Click on any Bitdefender product name to find out more about its features and system requirements before making a purchase.
Step 3: Choose a Bitdefender Product
Select the duration of the subscription (for example, 1 year or 2 years), then click Buy Now to continue.
Step 4: Review Shopping Cart
You’ll be redirected to the shopping cart page where you can review your selected product, number of devices, and price. If you have a coupon code, enter it here.
Step 5: Proceed to Billing and Payment
After verifying the order details, click BILLING AND PAYMENT DETAILS to continue to checkout.
Step 6: Fill in Billing Details
- Individual Customers: If you’re purchasing for personal use, select the I’M AN INDIVIDUAL tab and enter the requested information such as email address, name, country, etc.
- Business Customers: Select the I REPRESENT A COMPANY tab and enter your company details. For European Union VAT-registered businesses, you may also provide a VAT ID.
Important information about VAT ID

- VAT IDs apply only to companies registered in the European Union.
- Companies without a VAT ID can leave this field blank.
- VAT numbers are validated through the VIES VAT number validation system.
- Enter the VAT ID using capital letters and numbers only, without spaces or special characters.
- If your VAT ID cannot be validated during checkout, you can still complete the order with VAT applied and later request a correction by contacting [email protected].
Step 7: Select Payment Method
Choose your preferred payment method, such as credit or debit card, PayPal, etc., and fill in the required payment details.
Step 8: Buy Bitdefender
Check the confirmation box and click CONFIRM ORDER to finalize the Bitdefender purchase.
Step 9: Activate your Subscription
After completing the purchase, activate your Bitdefender subscription using one of the following options:
Option 1: Activate directly from the purchase confirmation page

- Click the ACTIVATE YOUR SUBSCRIPTION button displayed after payment.
Option 2: Activate from the confirmation email

- Open the confirmation email sent to the address you used at checkout.
