How to use Bitdefender VPN for iOS: Connection, Settings, Subscriptions

The VPN interface indicates whether the app is connected or not. To conserve battery, it’s advisable to turn off the VPN when not in use.

 

To connect to Bitdefender VPN on your iPhone and iPad, please follow these step-by-step instructions:

 

A. Using the Bitdefender VPN app

1. Launch the Bitdefender VPN application on your device.
2. To either connect or disconnect, tap the power button ⏻ on the VPN screen.
3. When connecting to Bitdefender VPN for the first time, you will be required to configure the VPN settings. To do this:
   a. Tap Continue.
   b. Grant the necessary permissions by tapping Allow.
   c. Enter your iPhone passcode when prompted.

 

If you are utilizing the free version of Bitdefender VPN, the server location will be automatically selected by Bitdefender based on proximity. However, if you are a premium user and wish to connect to a specific VPN server, follow these instructions:

• Tap on Locations.
• From the list of countries, select the one you desire for your connection.

 

 

B. Using the Bitdefender Mobile Security app

1. Launch the Bitdefender Mobile Security application on your device.
2. Tap the VPN icon  on the bottom navigation bar.
3. Tap Connect to turn on the VPN. To turn off the VPN, tap Disconnect.

• Tap on Automatic.
• From the list of countries, select the one you desire for your connection.

• Show latest locations – Display the most recent locations on the home screen, for quick access.
• Show dashboard data – Show trends, stats, and other helpful information on the VPN home screen.
• Clear dashboard data – All your dashboard data will be erased and all counters reset.
• Theme – Light/dark theme
• Notifications – Manage your notifications preferences.
• Reset VPN profile – Try if you are having connection issues. You will be disconnected and asked to reinstall the VPN profile the next time you attempt to connect to Bitdefender VPN.
• Help improve Bitdefender VPN – Submit anonymous product reports to help us improve your experience.
• Bitdefender essential services – Allow services to run uninterrupted for optimal performance
• Reset all settings – Reset the VPN to its original settings without reinstalling it.

 

Privacy

• Internet Kill-Switch – Stops all Internet traffic if the VPN connection is briefly lost.
• Ad blocker and Anti-tracker – Blocks ads and trackers to enjoy a cleaner and faster web.

 

Auto-connect

Here you can control when the VPN connects automatically:

• Unsecured Wi-Fi – Connect VPN when using public or unsecured Wi-Fi networks.

 

Advanced

• Split tunneling – Select websites to bypass the VPN and access the internet directly.
• Protocol – Choose the type of protocol you want to use for data transfer.
• Double-hop – For extra security, use two VPN servers to send and double-encrypt your internet traffic.
