Why does NETGEAR Armor display two identical devices?

Due to certain limitations of Apple’s iOS mobile operating system, NETGEAR Armor users might encounter situations where two identical devices are displayed on the online platform.

The first device appears in the My Devices window when you connect it to the wireless network, while the second one appears after installing local protection (Bitdefender Mobile Security for iOS) on it.

As we mentioned earlier, this is a corner case, and it’s generated by a technical limitation of Apple’s iOS. It’s caused by the fact that when you install Bitdefender Mobile Security for iOS on your iPhone, the app does not have any access to the MAC address of the device (this is restricted by iOS) and the app “creates” a new device in your account which cannot be linked with the first one by any means.
