BitDefender Further Expands Global Footprint with the Establishment of Canadian Office
BitDefender(TM), an award-winning provider of antivirus software and data security solutions, announced today that it is widening its global footprint with the establishment of a new Canadian office in Toronto, Ontario. BitDefender has also announced the appointment of John D. Herrington as channel development manager, Canada.
Herrington, who will be based in Toronto, brings to BitDefender close to 20-years of experience in developing and driving highly successful Channel activities in Canada. Prior to joining BitDefender, Herrington was general manager of Gentek and president and a founder of FastCAT, a manufacturer representation firm. He was also previously country manager, Canada, at SonicWALL; director of Sales and Marketing at D-Link Networks; and a senior manager at TechData Canada.
"BitDefender's strong growth and solid reputation as a technology leader in the antivirus and data security market made this new role very attractive to me. The Company has a tremendous opportunity to expand considerably in all channels in Canada and across North America, and I am thrilled with being given the responsibility for achieving this task," said Herrington. "We have already begun strategic discussions with resellers, retailers and ISP's throughout Canada that I anticipate will result in the launch of a national distributor for Canada within Q1 2006. This will further increase the considerable global market share that BitDefender has attained to date."
