How to use the Parental Control Categories

The 'Blogs' category will catch personal and blog pages. This category will block blogging platform pages, such as Blogspot or Wordpress.

The 'Casual Games' category will catch casual games that can be played in a browser, for example flash games. This category will not catch kindergarten games.

The 'Computer Games' category will catch pages about computer or console games. This category will not block the actual games from being run on the computer.

The 'Cult/Religious' category will catch pages that focus on cults of any type or any religion.

The 'Drugs/Alcohol/Cigars' category will catch online stores that sell drugs/alcohol/cigars. Pages discussing drugs/alcohol/cigars will also be caught.

The 'File Sharing' category will catch torrent download and browsing pages. Sites that share cracked software or warez will also be caught.

The 'Gambling' category will catch pages about gambling, poker, betting or casinos. Web pages that contain flash gambling games will be blocked.

The 'Hacking' category will catch pages that contain software/information on how to crack/hack accounts on the internet. This category contains but is not limited to information about Facebook, Yahoo, Twitter or Gmail account hacking.

The 'Hate/Violence/Racism' category will catch pages that contain graphical violence such as boxing knockouts, mixed martial arts fights or street brawls. This category will also block pages that discuss religious or race or sex discrimination. This category also block organisations that fight agains animal/domestic violence because they can contain case studies that present violent images.

The 'Health/Medicine' category will catch pages referring to diets or nutrition tips. This category will also block pages about steroids or muscle enhancement products. Body piercing and plastic surgery is also blocked when this category is activated.

The 'IM' category will catch pages that have the same function as Instant Messaging software. Pages from which these software can be downloaded are also blocked.

The 'Mature Content' category will catch pages about Sexual Transmitted Diseases. Sexual Education pages also fall under this category.

The 'Cult/Religious' category will catch all pages that focus on cults or any religion.

The ‘Narcotics' category will catch pages about narcotic drugs such as marijuana, cocaine or heroin. This category also blocks various classes of narcotics such as recreational drugs, psychoactive drugs, dissociative drugs, etc. Types of substances that can be found in narcotics such as tetrahydrocannabinol, phenylcyclohexylpiperidine, methylphenidate are also blocked.

The 'News' category will catch pages that contain news from all types of areas such as world news, sports news or financial news.

The 'Online Dating' category will catch social networks that offer online dating services. Pages that contain dating ads will also be blocked. Since some social networks can be used for online dating, for an increased efficiency you can combine this category with the 'Social Network' category.

The 'Online Games' category will block multiplayer games that can only be played in a browser and which require an account for playing.

The 'Online Payment' category will block the checkout pages of online stores. This category will also block merchant account websites.

The 'Online Photo' category will block pages that only share photos online.

The 'Online Shopping' category will block online shops for all things, such as computers, games, clothes, tickets, etc.

The 'Online Videos' category will block pages that only share videos online.

The "Pornography' category will catch that contain explicit or visual pornography. This category will block websites with explicit or foul language. Searches with explicit words will also be blocked. Uncensored video chats will be blocked by this category.

The 'Regional TLD' category will catch all websites that are Brazilian, Chinese or Russian domains. This category should be enabled only by people that don't speak these languages.

The ‘Scams' category will catch fake websites that sell items online. Fake replicas stores, fake pharmacy stores belong to this category.

The 'Search Engines' category will block online search engines.

The ‘Social Networks' category will block online social networks such as Facebook, Myspace,Formspring or Hi5.

The ‘Suicide' category will block pages discussing suicides techniques, motivations or news.

The ‘Tabloids' category will block websites that contain gossip or tabloids news.

The ‘Violent Cartoons' category will block cartoons that are not suited for children under 14 years. These cartoons usually contain visual violence, explicit language and/or sexual content. Cartoons that have ‘All Children' or ‘General Audience' ratings are not blocked.

The 'Weapons' category blocks websites about how to use or how to purchase guns of any type and self defense weapons. This category will not block toy guns.
