How To Troubleshoot Registration and My Account Issues

Registration Issues
"The license key you have entered is expired. You can get a new license key by clicking on the link above."
This message appears when the license key you have entered is expired. This means that it has been used before and the validity time expired. You can buy a new license key from the Bitdefender Online Store available here:http://www.bitdefender.com/solutions/. If you just purchased this license key and you have not used it before, please click here to contact the Bitdefender Customer Care department here .
"The license key you have entered does not match the product you are installing on your system. Your license key is for the product %s *. Would you like to install this product instead?"
*in the message you will see the product corresponding to your license key
This message appears during the installation process when you are trying to register Bitdefender with a different product key (e.g. you are installing a Bitdefender Total Security 2011 kit, but the license key is for Bitdefender Antivirus 2011)
If this is the case please click on the link from the message to install the recommended product and proceed with the installation or enter a valid license key for the product you are trying to install.
"The license key you have entered does not match the product you have installed on your system. Your license key is for the product %s *. Would you like to install this product instead?
*in the message you will see the product corresponding to your license key
This message appears after the installation process when you installed a Bitdefender product and now you are trying to register it with a key for a higher product (e.g. you are installing a Bitdefender Antivirus 2011 kit, but the license key is for Bitdefender Total Security 2011).
For these cases Bitdefender provides you the option to install the product that matches your license key from the same product window. Look for the "Install Bitdefender" link displayed under the error message.
"The license key you have entered does not match the product type you have installed on this PC. Please reinstall Bitdefender using the download link or the CD from where you installed the first time and try again."
This message appears after the installation process when you are trying to register Bitdefender with a different product key (e.g. you are installing a Bitdefender Total Security 2011 kit, but the license key is for Bitdefender Antivirus 2011). If this is the case, please uninstall this version of Bitdefender from Start>Programs>Bitdefender and reinstall it using the download link or the CD from where you installed the first time. During the installation process you will be asked to enter the license key.
"We were not able to validate the license key you entered. Please try again, or you can contact Customer Support to get help with this issue."
This message appears when the license key you are trying to use is reported as invalid by the Bitdefender servers. This can happen if the license key has been invalidated by Bitdefender for a breach in the license agreement (pirated license keys). If you have just purchased this license key, please contact the Bitdefender Customer Care departments by clicking here . Please make sure that you have a proof of purchase available for the Bitdefender representative.
"The license key you have entered is currently used in the product. You cannot register the product twice with the same key."
This message appears when you are trying to register the product with the same license key you have used when you installed it. This operation fails because the product is already using this key. If you want to extend the validity period of you current license key, please purchase a new license from our license store:http://www.bitdefender.com/solutions/
"You are no longer able to evaluate this product. You have used up all the time available for evaluation."
This message appears when you are trying t evaluate the same version of Bitdefender after the evaluation period expired. Bitdefender evaluations run for 30 days and can be done for one version at a time. If you would like to continue to use Bitdefender, please purchase a full license from our online store available here: http://www.bitdefender.com/solutions/
MyAccount Issues
Product activation with the license key and the Bitdefender account you have provided failed because no internet connection has been detected.
This error message appears when Bitdefender is not detecting an internet connection. Make sure that you can access the internet from the respective computer. Also, please turn off temporarily the Windows Firewall and any other software which may restrict your internet connection. If this information was not helpful Please contact the Bitdefender Customer Care departments by clicking here .
Wrong Information! This indicates that the password or the username you typed do not match our records. Retype the username and the password and click Submit to try again.
This notification appears when you are not typing the correct user name or password.
· If you do not have an account make sure you are selecting the option Create new account and fill in a valid email address, a password and retype your password for confirmation.
· If you already have an account access MyAccount(https://myaccount.bitdefender.com), fill in your username and password. If, however, the provided information is correct and you can login please contact the Bitdefender Customer Care departments by clicking here .
· If you cannot remember your password click Forgot your password? and follow the instructions to reset it.
Note: If you have reset your password recently please allow Bitdefender 1-2 hours to synchronize with our Server and then try again to activate it using the username and the new password.
