Bitdefender protects you against various Web attacks like:
1. Malware Websites - These Webpages are blocked by Bitdefender because they include objects that were either infected or likely to be infected with a virus. 2. Phishing Websites - These Webpages are blocked by Bitdefender because they are phishing Websites that will try to steal your confidential information. 3. Proxy Websites - These pages are used to mask other (possibly infected) websites which could access private data from your PC. Bitdefender blocks these pages because they can run possibly infected content on your PC even though the initial website is not infected. 4. Untrusted Websites - These Websites are marked as untrusted. They are either promoted through spam messages, reported by BD customers as not safe, or known for scams and fraudulent schemes. a. Fake Banks - Banks which in reality do not exist, although they apparently offer loans, project financing and online banking. These so called banks do not have a physical headquarters, are not registered with any governmental institution and show only a Website and a few phone numbers. People presented on the Website as the bank staff are usually identities stolen from other banks. As for the scam, in the case of a loan, you have to deposit 10% of the requested amount before receiving it. Obviously there will be no loan. b. Lottery scam - the victim first receives an e-mail message stating that he won the lottery. The victim is told to keep the message a secret and to contact the operator in order to claim his award. When he calls, everything looks legit, but he is asked to pay in advance processing fees and transfer charges. Obviously, nothing happens after he pays. c. Donation Scam - fake donation campaigns d. Shipping Scams - When purchasing products online, for some countries the taxes are smaller so some people will search for cheap shipping services. Obviously, not all are legit e. Money Maker- Work at home, make $10,000 / month easy. All you have to do is packing product X, licking envelops and so on. Just send $10 for shipping and taxes. f.Pharma - Canadian Pharmacy, cheap meds which are usually fake. g. Cheap Software - The user will pay for cracked software that can also contain viruses. h.Replica - Although they aren't saying that they sell the real thing, even though they sell fakes, these fakes are not delivered.
i.Fake Shops - Shops that either do not exist, or the way it works is fraudulent. For example, you want to buy product X. The shop purchases product X with a stolen credit card from a legit shop and sends it to your address. You pay the fake shop using a money transfer service. Then you're notified about the fraud and you have to return the product, but you will not receive my money back. j. Loan Scam
